Do I Qualify?If you fall under the following criteria, you may be eligible to take advantage of the Alaska Vet Loan Program, or other VA programs in Alaska
Active Duty Member serving full time for 90 continuous days:
Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard
Separated, Retired, Disabled or Released Veterans Serving after September 16, 1940 (Regular Vet)
Separated, Retired, Disabled, or Released Veterans Serving after June 1, 1986 (AHFC Alaska Vet)
Separated, Retired, Disabled or Released veterans must have been discharged with either an honorable or general discharge
Active Duty Member has to have completed his or her initial period of duty. (AHFC Alaska Vet)
Active Reserve or National Guard: 6 years in Selected Reserves
Duty in Public Health Service: Full time duty, other than for training, as a Commissioned Officer of the Public Health Service, or of the Reserve Corps of the Public Health Service, on or after July 29, 1945.
Unmarried Surviving Spouse: No time requirement. Veteran must have died on active duty or from a service-connected disability.
Subject Home must be your Primary Residence
All Veterans Must Reside in Alaska, or be PCS’ing to Alaska
Active Duty Member must have completed his or her initial period of duty and would have been entitled to a discharge or release under conditions other than dishonorable at the end of his or her initial period of duty. (AHFC Alaska Vet only)
